As part of SADA’s efforts to improve the educational environment for displaced children, a field visit to project sites was conducted on June 11, 2024, by the SCHF team. This visit aimed to assess the current situation and identify essential needs to ensure a safe and suitable educational environment during the summer.

During the visit, the team listened to feedback from beneficiaries, who emphasized the importance of improving school facilities. It was evident that the current conditions required modifications to provide a protective educational environment. In this context, several urgent needs emerged, prompting SADA to consider implementing new activities within the project’s logical framework.

The team worked on installing heat-insulating PVC roofs in schools with metal and fabric roofs. This measure aims to reduce temperatures inside classrooms, helping students to concentrate better during periods of high heat.

Secondly, a power supply was provided to schools, either from the local grid or through solar energy. This step has contributed to running fans during the summer and providing lighting for classrooms in winter, greatly facilitating the learning process.

Additionally, classrooms that were deteriorating were repainted to create an attractive and child-friendly learning environment. Beautiful and clean spaces contribute to boosting students’ morale and motivating them to learn.

Finally, ramps and toilet seats were provided in some schools to ensure easy access for students with disabilities to learning services. This is an important step toward promoting inclusive education and ensuring the rights of all children.

These activities have significantly contributed to improving the educational environment for displaced individuals and reflect SADA’s commitment to meeting the needs of local communities. Achieving these goals requires good coordination and a swift response to ensure the success of the project and effective support for children in need.
